i m using Fedora Core2 with DA installed

my server hosted 25 domains
but there are some strange problems.

1) sometimes, some domains are working, but some don't.
i need to wait until the domains work again

2) for example, xxx.com can be visited, but sub.xxx.com cannot!

3) abt FTP. sometimes again=(
sometimes, i can connect to ftp.xxx.com
but sometimes it doesnt work, i need to del 'ftp.' -> xxx.com to connect

can anyone kindly tell me why these happened?

Sounds like DNS issues to me, have you got a sample domain for us to see what's happening DNS-wise?

Dan

Your domain works.

The subdomain forwards to a DA placeholder page.

The only problem reported by DNS Reports is that there's no reverse DNS for the mx destinations. While this is rather bad as far as email is concerned, it shouldn't affect your hosting at all.

The only way anyone is going to find a problem is by being lucky enough to be logged in when it's happening.

If pressing "reload" in your browser window makes it work, then the problem is most likely with your bandwidth rather than with your server.

An overly busy server could have this sort of problem from time to time. Check your server load the next time it happens (use "top" from the command line prompt) and let us know.

some clients dont use domains (.com, .net)
but they use sub-domain(xxxx.mydomain.com) as it is free

i type xxx.mydomain.com in the domain fill when i am creating the user, am i correct?

i wonder if it is the dns problem...
just now, a client have told me many images on his page are broken, but when i took a look, its ok-.-
he said when he browsed the link of the images in IE, an error occured:
Network Error (dns_server_failure)

Your request could not be processed because an error occurred contacting the DNS server.
The DNS server may be temporarily unavailable, or there could be a network problem.

but i cant find this problem...

the server load is always low...
