Some Questions About DirectAdmin

Hi there.

I am considering switching over from HSphere to DA.

HSphere is just too confusing for us to support and I want something simpler for our basic needs. Our main business is website design and clients often ask for hosting so we just need a relatively simple solution (management for domain, e-mail, ftp, diskspace, bandwidth).

Just a few questions:

1) Is there a simple billing solution that integrates well with DA? It is important that it accepts PayPal, PayPal subscriptions and MyVirtualCard. Also how does DA interact with the billing software to know when a customer is in good/bad financial standing?

2) How does DA integrate with domain registration? We have an account with Directi so its important that we can integrate their API.

3) Is the client signup process simple and customizable?

That's all I can think of right now, looking forward to some responses. Thanks!

I believe all the questions you have pertain to the payment program you use - not directly to DirectAdmin.

Modernbill for one, can handle everything you need. There's others - you'd have to search.

None are directly tied to DirectAdmin, except that they use a payment module for DA to interact with DirectAdmin's API interface. Modernbill does - so do many others.

Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Well I guess to rephrase my question, how well does DA integrate with various billing software? Does anyone have experience with or comments about a billing solution in particular?

Looking at modernbill right now, seems really complex. Need something a lot "lighter" for like maybe 25-50 exclusive clients max.

Thanks!

Checkout Whoiscart, AWBS or Clientexec for "lighter" programs.

The first is harder to integrate into your site IMHO but works well, especially considering the $35 tag.

No direct experiance of AWBS

ClientExec is fine for us, especially as it has some additional functionality like billing in multiple currencies.

I really like the looks of Whois.Cart I think I might go with that one. Any other opinions?

Thanks!!
