spam acl condition: error reading from spamd

Getting

spam acl condition: error reading from spamd [127.0.0.1]:783, socket: Connection reset by peer

when SA tries to scan an email. Tried building spamassassin and all as well.
CentOS 7.9, directadmin 1.63.9 and custombuild 2.0.0.2938
 
Looks like installing rspamd, then completely removing rspam and going back to SA worked. Weird.
