It would be nice to have a template for user_prefs. Even better would be for the users to have a way to customize it and the customizations stay even then they then use the web interface to add black/white list names.

DA Has a template file for spamassassin. And the user can edit it through the CP. So what else do you want there to be added to it ?

I couldn't find the template file in the templates dir or mentioned in /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/README. Which file is it?

Also, the second part of the request. If a user edits the file manually via the web and then later adds a black/white list address, the changes are lost. Once it's been edited via the 'Manually...' link, you can't use the rest of the interface again.

It would be nice if those changes were preserved. Maybe save manual edits in a separate file and merge them with the data from the interface and the template file every time it's overwritten. Or make it an included file if the SA Conf file supports include files.

I agree the implementation is poor, I think what DA does is if you have a custom ruleset and then make a change on the gui the user's config is wiped clean and then the gui changes written, it overwrites instead of append.
