I am having a problem with spamd. It will no longer start. It claims option -a is not a viable option. I believe this option is for autowhitelist. Can anyone help me sort this out?

If I remove the -a option in

/etc/sysconfig/spamassassin

spamd starts without problem. Thanks.

You don't write what OS distribution you're using but on our systems (RedHat based), there's a spamd startup script.

You should check your system's spamd startup script to see what options it's using, and change as necessary.

I am running RHE3
-a (autowhitelist) is an option from everything I have seen. What do you have in your startup script?

I'm the wrong person to ask; we haven't used SpamAssassin in some time and we're working now on a different approach, to run it through exim during smtp rcpt.
