Squirrelmail + mod_ruid2 + subdomain.domain

Just had a client seeing this error, with .sig, .pref, etc. However, when I try my personal sites, I do not see any errors.

This client did use a backup from another DA server, maybe this is the reason?

Note: if i chown the files with webapps:webapps, they can log into squirrelmail from <host>/squirrelmail/, just not from the subdomain ( http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=92 )

Any ideas?

I don't use Squirrelmail anymore, but I use http://www.domain.com/webmail as a link to the webmail instead of the subdomain.
Spares the template change, only an alias change is needed. Isn't that an idea or do you really want the http://webmail.domain.com subdomain to be used?

What I don't understand is it only happens on one account, which was imported from another DA server.

If that is the case with only 1 user which was imported, I can only think that there might be a difference in the ownership of the user's account somewhere.
Maybe something is set to user:apache instead of user:access or user:user (also used with mod_ruid2). Did you check that already or compare it with another useraccount which is working (do not compare against a reseller or admin account!).

It only happens when we "restore" accounts from a backup (from different servers).... I know it could be mod_ruid2 that's the culprit but I'm sure (and know) I'm not the only one with the mod_php/mod_ruid2 setup... Anyone else encountered this?

The /var/www/html/squirrelmail-xxx/data/ directory has a mixture of apache:webapps, webapps:webapps file permissions.

I've now made the subdomain a redirect to <host>/webmail.... But the webmail. subdomain alias looks more professional.
