SSL certificate, "domain.com" to "www.domain.com"

So I bought an EV SSL certificate, which only works for "www.mydomain.com" and not for "mydomain.com"

So I want to edit my apache in some way that every visitor is automatically redirected to www.mydomain.com.

Making this change in .htaccess does not work, because my visitors will still see "this certificate is not valid, click here to continue", then they click to continue and THEN they are redirected to "www.mydomain.com"

Does anyone know a solution?

Check with your vendor to see if they can reissue the Certificate with both options. We sell certificates that work with and without the www, so I know it's doable.

Or point the domain name without the www. prefix to a different server, and do the redirect there.
