Hello,

I am 100% lost on getting this SSL certificate installed. I used DA per the instructions to create a CSR. I pasted that CRS to QuickSSL when I signed up for their cert. In the end, I was given a Certificate.

I went back to DA and selected to paste my own certificate. Under the RSA Private Key area I pasted the certificate that was given to me by QuickSSL (complete with the BEGIN and END certificate parts).

I then clicked on the link to install a CA Root Certificate. In this screen I also pasted the certificate given to me by QuickSSL (the same one I pasted in the last screen).

And I KEEP getting the snakeoil cert when I try to go to it. What am I doing wrong???

Do you have admin/root access to the server?

If not, you might be better off contacting your hosting provider.

I am root...and I think I figured it out.

My domain belonged to admin and was shared with 2 other domains...I made a new user with only that one domain and set it up, and it works.

Unnecessary and confusing. Certs from GeoTrust do NOT require a CA root certificate. The only ones currently sold that I know of that require a CA root certificate are from Comodo, and some very expensive wildcard certs from Verisign, though there could be others.
