Hello,

I have a problem with installing SSL on Direct Admin.

What is the situation;
At my Direct Admin control panel i have one free ip adress, which is free and no users ara atteched to this ip-adress.

I have one user who want to use an SSL certificate and therefore i need this free ip-adress. I can adjust the settings of the domain via configure user, and select the free ip-adress. Next to this the DNS settings (A records) are changed to the new IP. So far so good.

When i look into my browser i can;t see a website, just the apache welcome screen and no website.

Where do i go wrong!

;-)

The domain is bolerolabs.com and is now configured on 91.196.168.137.
The free ip on the server is .144

Thank you for the help!

First make sure the IP# is answering on your server. Is it added in the admin interface? did you get the netmask right (by default it may be very wrong)?

Then did you assign it to the reseller hosting the user account for bolerolabs.com? And then did you log in as the reseller and change the IP# to the bolerolabs.com user to the new IP#?

Once you've done that you may have to wait up to 86,400 seconds (that's 24 hours and it's set in your TTL field of your DNS record) until you can see the site again on your own desktop, but you might want to call someone else to try it; they might see it sooner. That's called DNS propagation time.

91.196.168.144 is a shared ip. You have to unshare it first.

bolerolabs.com has the ip 91.196.168.137 which appears to be the server ip.

ok, thx so far.

But i've released .144 so it can't be a shared one.

What is the problem when i only see a apache webpage?
I'm in control as administrator (reseller)

I've read something about that TTL, where can i adjust it to (let's say 5 minutes)

Now you can assign it to a user. You may have to assign it to a reseller first even if its admin.

From the reseller level of the reseller you assigned the ip to click Ip Management and make sure it is not shared.

i can't understand what you mean ..

1. i have to assign it to the reseller which owns the domain
2. go to the reseller of the domein and then ip ..

next?
