Hello,

Everytime i login to Squirrelmail and click (Check mail) link, a minute later i am receiving this email

From: Mail System Internal Data
Subject: DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE -- FOLDER INTERNAL DATA

Body:
This text is part of the internal format of your mail folder, and is not
a real message. It is created automatically by the mail system software.
If deleted, important folder data will be lost, and it will be re-created
with the data reset to initial values.

Can anyone please tell me why i am receiving this message everytime?

Are you still running mbox? Or have you updated to Dovecot/Maildir?

The original IMAP daemon used that file as a holder for configuration information and didn't show it to the user. Once you've converted to Dovecot/Maildir it's treated as any other email; if you delete it, then it shouldn't come back.

Is there a particular reaosn/benefit to upgarde to Dovecot/Maildir?

If you're still using the IMAP daemon then every time you use POP to look at mail the file will be downloaded (and when it is, it is also deleted from the server) then it will be recreated when you next use IMAP.

Lots. Read the threads with Dovecot in the name :).
