Strange ns1,ns2 names

Hello everyone,
Today i got my first server, and i need to fix the primary domain,
the NS i got looks like this: IOM001.local.
so when i try to add it to my registrar i get this error:

"Errors modifying nameservers: nRRPResponseCode 533"

Can someone plz explain it more.

".local" is a non valid suffix used mainly in local servers that don't have/want Internet access.
Change the hostname of the server to something valid, with an RFC top level domain (.com, .net...). You will have to buy it, or use some free domain service (like http://freedns.afraid.org/, but this won't let you use your server as authoritative nameserver).

DNS is a complicate matter, I suggest you hire a consultant or sysadmin that will take care of it. I'm available, you can find contact data in my profile.
