Hi,

ive got just a question

5635 nobody 25 0 374m 369m 1452 R 100 18.3 795:07.97 dataskq

is that normal?

OS Debian 4.0

Thanks

I don't think so. On our (CentOS-based) systems, and probably on all DA systems, dataskq is a program run from a cronjob, not a daemon.

You can probably kill it.

Hello,

We've seen a few boxes where the dataskq goes nuts when trying to parse through a big bandwidth.tally file. We've made numerous optimizations to the code to speed up that process and reduce memory usage for it, as usual, available for the next release.

Workaround at the moment is to reduce the size of a particular bandwidth.tally that's huge. The ones we saw when debugging were 1.4 gig in size, which is no wonder it was slowed down ;) The new code can eat through that in about 10 seconds, instead of several days.
