stupid http.conf alias question

This may be an stupid question of maybe not
these lines are part of my httpd.conf

Alias /webmail /var/www/html/horde3n/
Alias /horde /var/www/html/horde3n/
Alias /horde3n /var/www/html/horde3n/

My question is why it is not possible to access to http://ANYDOMAIN/horde
when the line "Alias /horde3n /var/www/html/horde3n/"
is not present?

Can't say without looking at what your log file says. That will really tell you why it failed.
