Sub-domains not working!

I added a sub-domain to one of my domains yesterday. I left it for 6 hours or so but its still not working. When I go to the sub-domain I get "Address not found" error message.

I've restarted named.

Anyone know what the issue could be?
 
You evidently did not get the point.

We cannot help you without the domain or subdomain. If you want help then provide the requested information.

Remember you are the one requesting help. Nobody here is under any obligation to help you. If you want to piss off the one that knows more about DirectAdmin than anybody else other than the DA staff themselves then that is up to you. But its probably not in your best interest.
 
I'm well aware of the point being made!
If I wanted the information posted I would have posted it. It doesn't take much to ask and I would have sent a PM. Sending a smart arsed comment and link doesn't help either party.

Sure it does. It educates you, the person asking for help, as to why its stupid to not post the domain and why we need it to help you. That link should be mandatory reading before anyone is allowed to post a question here.

If you don't want to post the domain, that's fine. You just won't get any help because we cannot help you if we cannot research the domain and tell you what the problem is.

And how is a PM going to help the next person who reads this thread? This is not your personal help center. All the posts and threads are here to help everybody not just you. Its not all about you.

How can we possibly "know"? You have not given us the subdomain. Without the subdomain or domain we cannot possibly "know."

Do you want the whole list of what can be wrong or just the top 10 or 20? We are not going to waste our time here giving you an exhaustive list of every possible thing that "could" be wrong. We would rather give you a definitive answer.

There are many checks we can do to help you figure out the problem. But I guess you will never know what the answer is.
 
If you must know its an Aviation company, I've been told not to release any information into the public domain until the site is completed. I cant help that, so when I received the response I did it pissed me off, it doesn't take much to ask!
I was hoping it was a quick fix or known issue, obviously not.
 
It's an incredibly quick fix if you can give us the information. If you can't it's lots of guesses.

I posted what I did because don't waste time guessing. A few others have posted and said as much as well.

This is a volunteer forum. We help on our own time and using our own resources. If you can't help us help you, then you won't get help.

You can buy support from us or lots of other people, but I for one, won't help you without knowing the domain or subdomain name, even as a paid job. Of course another option would be to contract with someone to log into the server, but then they'd see the domain and subdomain name.

You can get permission to give out the domain name, or you can go ahead and keep trying to figure it out yourself. If this thread continues to go nowhere I'll close it.
