subdirectory/folder path installation

i'm new to directadmin program. some of my hosting are using fantastico.

i'm happy if someone could help me solved my problem. I want to install blog or gallery and the url suppose like this

http://blog.mydomain.com and http://gallery.mydomain.com

Not like this http://mydomain.com/blog

how i make it?

another question, which one is good for seo-any different?

type 1: http://blog.mydomain.com
or
type 2: http://mydomain.com/blog

Also what should i do with previous installation(type 2)? any way to 'migrate it' to type 1. if possible i don't want to delete/uninstall it because there is some data inside.

When you use subdomain setup both will point to the same page.

hi,

i redirect to two subdomain for two path and only one works. i don't know why.

#1. http://mydomain.com/blog redirect to -> http://blog.mydomain.com

#2. http://mydomain.com/gallery redirect to -> http://gallery.mydomain.com

only #2 works

can't figure out why is that not working
i try to redirect the directory path to subdomain

You've told it isn't working, but you haven't told us what is occuring. Since you won't tell us the real domainname we're at a loss to help.
