subdomain of domain A to subdomain of domain B

Hi,

I have 2 domains in my DirectAdmin install, for example domainA.com and domainB.com

I want to handle admin.domainA.com at admin.domainB.com, so a user can use his own domain (domainA.com) but everything is handle through domainB.com

I have made a CNAME from admin.domainA.com tot admin.domainB.com, but the only message i get is 'Apache is functioning normally'.

What i'm doing wrong?

Just to amplify further: a CNAME will only work if what you call admin.domainB.com is on it's own IP#.
