Subdomain problems

Hey!

I want to make some subdomain but with every account I use I get:

Error creating /home/domain/domains/domain.nl/public_html/forum/cgi-bin
Parent directory does not allow write, or one of the directories didn't allow search (execution) permission

Why is this and I have permission I am logged in as this user.

what are the permissions of the public_html directory, and perhaps parent directories?

Hi Jm,

Those are read, write, ex for owner and read, ex for group. So chmod 750.....

Ownership is set to user:apache and not user:user right?

Yes you are right.......how come? Did not do anything with it and a few months ago I could make a subdomain.......

What is the cause??

Have you upgraded DirectAdmin during that time?

I don't think the following applies to subdomains since they are just subdirectories within the parent domain's directory.

I have tried to make a subdomain a couple of weeks ago before I upgraded. Today I upgraded DA to the latest version but no luck. It still has the same error.

Hi Jm,

I read the fix/feature and I see on my server this is happened....but do I have to change everything manually? And in the fix/feature they mention that it is more secure to leave it this way....so no one can look in the dir public_html.....I agree with that but now I cannot make a subdomain through the DA controlpanel and also my customers.........Can you help me? Or give me another hint
