Hi,

Is it possible in DirectAdmin to add subdomains as a domain? Or that a subdomain can be linked to a different nameserver?

I want to create emails like this ([email protected]) and also make it possible to link my subdomain to another webserver.

Thnx!

Stefan

Yes.

Yes. Create nameserver records for the subdomains in the zone file for the main domain.

What is a zone file?

And for adding subdomain as a domain can you give me an example? Can it be done by interface or only with configuration files?

A zone file is the file in your server that controls the DNS for the zone. A zone is either a domain or a subdomain.

You add the subdomain through the control panel as if it were a domain.

I'd suggest you avoid having subdomain on separate name server, because when trying to lookup IP for that subdomain you will need two lookups - first for domain, then for subdomain. If nameserver for domain is offline, subdomain won't resolve.
