Hi

after testing around for 2 weeks on a testserver, i rebuild the first of three servers from me with DirectAdmni 1.61 and CentOS8, PHP7.

Because i wanted to make everything correct, i migrated every domain, subdomains, databases by hand.
Took me 2 days, but it had been worth. Mostly i have there WP and simple HTML sites.

DirectAdmin is working since 10 days smoothly without any issues and the dark mode and the modern icons are really a plus and i dont like to miss them again.

As a former Cpanel user, you miss in DirectAdmin close to nothing. The only minus point in my way is the hassle with the SSL at moment, altough its still much better then in former DirectAdmin versions, but it still makes on some domains at the first time some problems. There i would wish when there comes a more/better solution, because in Cpanel its workling really smoothless without problems.

But overall i am quite happy with DirectAdmin and would never change back to Cpanel. 2 servers i will still migrate to DirectAdmin in the next weeks, then i have all with DirectAdmin.

So everyone who needs a great panel for a fair price, DirectAdmin is the choice. My honest oppinion.

I have not had any problems with SSL in DirectAdmin. I always found Cpanel to be very confusing.

Thanks for the thoughts. Welcome to DA and the Forum. It’s been running solid for me as well since last July.
I noticed on the feedback site no one has put a request for AutoSSL like functionality as a request.

So what is AutoSSL functionality? How is it different than what DA is doing?

Basically if you add any accounts, domains anything that needs ssl on the web side. It just does it. Once you tell it in the config to secure domain/system it’s on autopilot. The user or admin is just done.

DA from the user perspective is all manual. They have to go click or Unclick a box.

Ok I just spent a couple of hours and figured out the hard parts of automating this. Only a few more things left to do and I will have AutoSSL for my company and the user doesn't even have to do anything at all.

I have it so that it enables SSL for the user, enables SSL for the domain, and creates the Let's Encrypt certificate. I just have to make it check for existing certificates so that it doesn't create them unnecessarily and overwrite other third party certs or exceed the Let's Encrypt limit.

Hi Guys,

i have to take back the statement regarding Letsecnrypt from my first post.

Today i switched the next 50 domains on a second server to DirectAdmin (this time i didnt change the IPs of the domains) and thre request of the SSL certificates had been functioning absolutely smoothless.

The more i do with DirectAdmin, the more i love it.

Hi

as i know or had been reading, there will come a Auto SSL Feature from DirectAdmin itself soon....

After using more than 5 months now DirectAdmin on my servers, i can honestly say, that i am more than happy with my decision to kick CP and use DA now. Best choice ever. For me, DA is really a nobrainer and has all what i need as a company with several hundred sites.
