I read this one https://docs.directadmin.com/changelog/version-1.63.6.html

it said swapping between zerossl and letsencrypt is deprecated using magic file /root/.zerossl.

Now I'm confused, without using the above magic file, and when I request an SSL certificate for my hostname, how does the DA know which provider to use and how can I switch between using zerossl or letsencrypt for hostname?

I checked letsencrypt.sh and it contains the magic file /root/.zerossl check. So, in conclusion, that magic file is still being used but not the highest priority for normal domain.

EDIT:

So, from my understanding, the magic file is still needed to switch between zerossl and letsencrypt for hostname but for other normal domains, it would switch based on config from user. If you can update this in the documentation regarding the hostname SSL, it would be very helpful to some people without going through the source code. :)

so it just "deprecated", not "removed" symbol.

"deprecated" meaning, it will change/removed in the future if needed.

Yeah but, using a deprecated method makes me feel unsafe in the future :D

especially when I want to write an automated script that I want it to work for many years.
