Hi

About 3 days ago our little mail server stopped sending mail and the error in the logs says synchronization error

I found a thread with a work around but I can't figure where to put it. (Add joke here) :)

http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=83 is where the work around is

Any help is most appreciated

Thanks

Dale

Hi

This is becoming a dire situation, I would be more than willing to pay someone to fix this

Please PM me if you have good mail experience and can hopefully fix this

Thanks

The exim.conf file has a bunch of commented lines at the top. You can put it above the first uncommented line.

Don't forget to restart exim.

Hi Jeff

Thank you, found a spot and restarted exim. Seem to be getting a lot of Connection timed out errors since then.

I also seen a ton of these below in the exim reject file

Is this looking more like our server is being used to send spam?

Thanks

It just means they are attempting to. Doesnt necessarily mean they are succeeding. Its telling you that its dropping the connection because they are not sending the right commands. You could just block the abusive ips in your firewall. Maybe you were given a bad ip by your hosting provider that was abused before.

Hi

Issue now solved, turned out it had nothing to do with our Exim but rather our supplier had disabled our ability to send mail because one of our client's had their email compromised and was sending spam.

Thank you to everyone who replied and tried to help

D
