Systems goes into Read only mode

Most of my system directories go into read only mode. ls -lia shows something like -rw-r--r--.
My services httpd, named, my sql do not start?

Server runs for a day or two and then this happens?


Do I need to change passwords (other than admin) after the fresh install? May be somebody is hacking in?

I have seen /var/log/secure log. It shows hackin attempts. Where do I see the successful log ins?

You HD is dying. You need to replace it fast. When the system starts to lock and all your data is read only, it means that your HD is just few hours before a brutal end.

Backup your data while you can.
