Tally log rotation + apache restart

Hello,
anyone care to explain how does tally work exactly?

I belive that at given time it "rotates" apache logs - and that happens very fast
next
apache restart is performed so it open new logfiles for next day
next
tally is doing its magic for another few hours not affecting apache logging at this point?


I belive apache restart is necessery to open new filelogs handlers - right?

In general it is working exactly the way you described it here.

Right, restart/reload is needed to close writing to old logs.
