Temporary failure in name resolution ???

I get a weird error all of sudden - "Temporary failure in name resolution" with amny scripts, this is also causing wordpress to hang up for 40 seconds before page loads.

name resolution is simply another way to say DNS. Something is temporarily not working. Since you don't say where you're getting the error, I don't have any idea where the error might lie.
