Temporary URL + Drupal = ???

I always seem to have trouble using Drupal with the temporary URL. Is there some setting that can fix this, and allow clean URLs to work with the temp URL? I'd been subdomaining domains but I'd rather use the temp url to work with a client until the site is ready, then all they'd have to do is redirect nameservers & it's done.

With Clean URLs off, and other random issues, it's hard to work with Drupal though with the temporary URL.

With the temporary URL, I also seem to get a lot of what Drupal called the White Page of DOOM!

I know this is old... but since I came back to it today & discovered how to get it work without messing with DA settings, I thought I'd share to help others who have the same issue.

https://www.drupal.org/node/256410 Clean URLS works with the settings mentioned in that link, via htaccess.
