Tomcat and RoR resource consumption

Hello,

I am thinking on install Tomcat and RoR on my shared hosting servers althrough the headchris plugins (http://daplugin.com/) to offer this two plataforms to my clients.
I never used JSP or RoR, can this down the general performance of my servers? I use these machines for the shared hosting:
Processor: Intel Xeon 3075 2x 2.66 GHz L2: 4 Mo, FSB: 1333 MHz
RAM: 8 GB DDR 2
SO: CentOS 5 + Directadmin
LAMP: Apache 2.2 + PHP4 + PHP5 + MySQL5

If no one is responding it's likely because no one knows. Your server seems well endowed with resources but of course no one but you knows exactly what it is you're hosting, how many hits, what kind of resources you're using now, etc.
