Hi,

I had my web site http://www.buzztopix.com/ hosted with a dedicated server and recently moved to another dedicated server.

I (think) I followed the instructions given here properly, but evidently I blew it somewhere along the way, because now my web site is completely gone :(

The IP address of my new server is 206.51.233.146
The IP address of my old server is 69.46.26.118

I have followed the setup such that my new dedicated server would have the two name servers ns1 and ns2 (206.51.233.150 and 206.51.233.151)

Yahoo is my registrar for my domain name.

Can someone help?

Thanks,
Louis Philip

You have to update your nameserver ips at your domain registrar. Once you update them it takes up to 48 hours or so to update around the internet.

From what I tell right now they are pointing to the old ip address still.

Thanks!

So I went to Yahoo (my registrar) and simply resubmitted the Nameservers, since they have always been ns1.buzztopix.com and ns2.buzztopix.com

Yahoo complained that they are not connected to the network and so it might not work, but I submitted them anyhow and nothing bad seemed to happen.

I noticed at Yahoo that I had two "A" records pointing to the wrong IP address... so I modified them to point to the (presumed) IP address's of my name servers:

A Record ns1.buzztopix.com 206.51.233.150
A Record ns2.buzztopix.com 206.51.233.151

I will wait ~48 hours and then see what happens,
Thanks,
Louis.
