I am working on translating directadmin for a different type of users for my system..

Now everything is ok, ecept for the Hardcoded translation.

There is nothing hard about using templates for shell or perl scripting (whichever directadmin uses) to translate ALL text of directadmin.

At first I thought to do what this page says:

http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=35

But then just for the file manager search I would need to run over 20 changes, which will slow things down (as the article claims).

I think it would be a great thing and I am sure it wont take more than a couple of hours work to be done.

Thanks,
Aziz

I discussed that problem with John the last year and although adding USERLANG token to help a little in the translations, seems that it is not a priority of directadmin to extract of the EXE file the English TOKENS build in and generating the corresponding archives in 'lang' dir.

Yes, as you say, you are possible to translate ALMOST all the Control Panel with PHP, but two quite serious problems exist:

1 - Whenever there is an update of directadmin, all the templates are replaced and is necessary to keep copies in safe place to review the changes and to re-apply them (very annoying).

2 - They exist hardcoded TOKENS in directadmin that can't be translated in the server side due to executing the code in one chroot environment and if it is desired to translate them the only option is to carry out the translation in the client side by means of Javascript, as it is the case of the FileManager and some others. But same problem as in previous point.

Perhaps he would be interesting, to facilitate the revisions, that when updating skins, only packed the modified archives.

Regards,
Ramon
