I have made (almost) completely polish translation for DirectAdmin but there is still a lot of hardcoded phrases in files:
Code:
/usr/local/directadmin/directadmin
/usr/local/directadmin/datasq
Can I just edit phrases in this files for example using Midnight Commander's bulit-in editor and this will work correctly or I 'll broke this files if I'll edit them this way?
I am going to have professional service but many of my clients will not understand english phrases so it's very important to me to have 100% of the stuff translated to polish language (including Site-helper.com which is almost ready in polish language too).

The files you described are compiled source code, so they're executables, which in essence means you can't edit them. Although I've never tried it before, most likely it will break them...

If that's true, DirectAdmin seems to be useless stuff for non-english providers... :/

You can not directly edit the executable. You would have to get a hold of the source, which I can almost guarantee DA will not give out, make the changes to the source and the recompile the program.

Best suggestion I have for DA is load all text from variables from a language file located in a language directory. So for example there would a variable be named for a specific sentence, and what DA would show would be specified by what was in that language file. Best way to understand it, take a look at how phpbb manages multi-language forums :p
