Trouble enabling DKIM due to phpmyadmin?

Im following the guide here to try to enable DKIM:

I'm stuck on step 2, which to rebuild exim with the dkim settings enabled

da build exim

My problem that pops-up is that I get an error talling me my php is too old to install the (i presume) latest version of phpmyadmin. Thats fine, im not interested in upgrading phpmyadmin/php just yet.

Is it possible to do the da build exim without having the scripts need to check on phpmyadmin?

Run:

da build set phpmyadmin no

and try with exim again.
