Trouble with Exim

Hello Guys,

I am having trouble with my exim, almost all messages that are sent to the server is being frozen and we cannot have the mails successfully sent out of the server

Exim 3.36
RH 7.3

Please could you let me have your valuable views on the topic.

You haven't given us enough information to help you.

However you have given us one very valuable piece of information.

You should NOT be using Exim 3.36. It's extremely insecure by today's standards, and none of the recommended changes to the exim.conf file will work with it; it uses a version of the exim.conf file that, by design, will allow mail incoming to your server whether or not the user exists.

How long ago was your DA server installed?

What version of DA are you running?

Thank you for the post.

I was just wondering to upgrade the exim to 4.44 but the error with glibc wont allow us here.

We have been using the directadmin box for more than 4 years and we have had less trouble with the same compared to the cpanel servers.

The current glibc version that we are having is 2.44. The issue is still ongoing. Please let me know what other information you require to advise us to the best.

DirectAdmin is only 2.5 years old, so I'm guessing you added it to an already working server.

If your RHL 7.3 a customized version? Our reference RHL 7.3 box uses glibc 2.2.5-43 (from RH's RPM numbering scheme, where the 43 represents the customized build within the 2.2.5 version).

It also uses exim version 4.24.

You need a version of exim 4.x on this server. 3.x is no longer supported by anyone.

My advice would have to be that it's time to leave RHL 7.3 behind.

I know that's not easy, but that's the best possible advice I could give.
