Uknown user issue, but only when sending to exchange

Hey guys,
I'm new here, so please bear with me if I'm posting in the wrong forum.

Having some weird issues with directadmin email accounts I set up.

Initially, I got some accounts set up on my domain, and started trying to hook into them. Couldn't do it. when I would use webmail, I kept getting an auth not possible error.

Then I rebooted the server, and magically, the email works. I didn't even really do anything to it except apply some exim patches.

Anyway, now the email works.... unless I'm trying to send it to an email account hosted on an exchange server.

It won't even open up a relay. Failure is instant (unless I'm using port 587, and then it takes a minute).

The error varies a little by client, but it's always an "unknown user" error with no discernible smtp error code.

Anyone seen anything like this before?
