Hi,

I am using the latest version of the Outlook desktop app, which is connected to two email accounts:
  1. My personal account
  2. My work email account, [email protected], which I added as a secondary account.
Emails sent from my work account currently display the email address ([email protected]) as the sender's name. I want to change this to display my name (Huub van Morphy) instead.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. Went to File > Account Settings > Account Settings, selected the work email, and clicked on Manage Account. However, there’s no option to change the display name here.
  2. Checked online via Outlook.com, but I couldn’t find settings to change the display name for my work account.
  3. My work email is not hosted through Microsoft 365, so I cannot edit it via the Admin Center.
I’d like to know how to update the display name for this secondary account in Outlook so recipients see Huub van Morphy instead of the email address.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Huub

Are you using the (new) outlook app? instead of outlook(classic).
The new outlook have dont have the option to select a sender name for imap accounts.

Sorry @huubv but this is not a regular computer support forum. This is a forum intended for support to directadmin license holders only, so Directadmin admins.
You might want to visit a computer forum like nationaalcomputerforum.nl or something similar for these kind of problems.

As for your question, @exlhost is right. At this moment in the Outlook new app (for Windows), currently this is not possible. As far as I read at Microsoft it is being worked on, but it's not known when the option will be present in a new update.
