We had a failing hard drive on one of our DA servers. It has been replaced, the RAID card has rebuilt the array, and everything seems to be operating normally, with the exception of the error message noted in the title. Any idea what would cause that?

Thanks in advance.

I hate to state the obvious but, is /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/tickets.list present?

Permissions proper?

group diradmin
owner diradmin
permissions 600

..or maybe it's corrupted and removal and making a new one?

Actually, the obvious (to you) was not (to me) and therefore quite helpful. Thanks. tickets.list was not present, and once I created the files (needed one for admin plus two users) and adjusted ownership and permissions the ticket system came back. It now appears I am missing some ticket config file, as the email portion cannot access a destination address, but I can probably track down those missing files by comparing other DA servers we have.

Thanks again for your help.

We are having more issues with this, and I assume they are permissions/ ownership issues or more missing files. Problem is I just don't know where to look. We have 3 users on this machine. 2 of them back up without a problem, but the most critical one is kicking off errors (we back up nightly to a remote server)

The errors are below. If someone has an idea of what might be causing this I would appreciate their insight. Thanks.

Cannot find backup file /home/tmp/admin/user.admin.workers.tar.gz to upload

I'll look at my system and see if I can digest the workings of the ticket system enough to respond with something that may help.

I've not worked with raid mirroring a long time. Since I am a backup fiend raid just seemed less important for my needs. If you have a recent system backup you could go about comparing directories/files to help determine if there are any other missing files.

The idea of a file being missing in the first place, given the raid 1 or 10 setup (?) is kind of scary.. so many files on these DA servers it makes my head hurt. :-)

Is the ticket system working for you now? Kind of got ahead of myself since the last message you posted doesn't have any relevance to the ticket system.

Maybe an OS difference or whatnot but I'd expect to find my backups for a 'user.admin.workers.tar.gz' type on my system in:

/home/admin/admin_backups/
or
/home/admin/user_backups/

..and not in /home/tmp/..

Appreciate the input. We did get the ticket system working, but there is lots of buggy stuff we are coming across. We were preparing to migrate to a new server, and this is expediting that process. This server has been weird for some time - it keeps going into kernel panic every time we ran a cron job to backup all 3 users on the system. We could manually run them individually with no problem, but all three at once put it over the top....

Thanks for your help.

Glad to help as I am able.

I don't envy your situation with the server.

Hopefully the server move goes well and the data integrity of your backups is good so the problems can be left behind.
