Hi,
I have been using directadmin since June and ever since then i had been able to successfully update the directadmin control panel as and when the need comes by.

But now that i am using directadmin version 1.25.1, i am not able to update it to any newer version. I dont know what is the problem. It doesnt even give any kind of error messages. Just doesnt update.

Please help.

How do i proceed with checking with directadmin support?

Underlined are my limitations:
>>The directadmin license is registered by my host for me(not me directly)
>>When i report this problem to them, they ask me to contact directadmin support myself.

So how do i proceed with this?

Maybe you have firewall? Becoz I have the same problem when firewall is on

Certainly try the update with any firewalling turned off. It's possible your firewall is misconfigured.

If your hosting company owns the license it's their responsibility to cover all issues with DA support. If they won't, you should probably find another hosting company.

That said, I'd ask the support team anyway; they may have a simple answer.

It is not his firewall or anything like that i have the same problem, i get the following error message:

This is an automated message notifying you that an error has occurred while trying to update the software.
The generated error message is as follows:

Error restoring file /usr/local/directadmin/update.tar.gz :
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
/bin/tar: Child returned status 1
/bin/tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
: tar returned error code 512<br>

<br>
Try updating manually: http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=29<br>

Please contact JBMC-Software, including the error message. Failure to do so could result in an inactive control panel.

Anyone know how to correct this? Oh yes i try doing it manual like the link above instructs you.

Try this:
Delete /usr/local/directadmin/update.tar.gz

Then retry the manual upgrade instructions. After downloading (wget), make sure that the file downloaded (update.tar.gz) is of a substantial size (greater than 1MB).
If it is, then continue with the rest of the instructions keeping an eye out for errors.

If that still does not work for you, I suggest you do as the error message tells you to do and contact DirectAdmin support.
