Hi everyone,

I`ve been noticed from my clients, they have problems with emails sending through my server. Its happen very often, messages are undeliviered, especialy when they containts big attachments.
There is a second problem as well. When they sending messages from account to second account, both from my hosting server, sometimes it`s taken a long time when message is recived by the second one.
Anyone has an idea, where can i start to look for the problems? And maybe how to resolve it?

Thanks!

I've had the same isue by clients over the past few years. My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that email was never designed to hadle large attachements.

These days, if I don't or can't get clients to set up ftp accounts for users that require large files to be transmitted, I sent my clients off in the direction of "free" services such as FileDropper - and to date have never lost a client because of this - in fact, they send us rave reviews!

turnersloane is right in saying that email is not really meant as a large file exchange protocol. It is always best to encourage clients to use file services like filedropper etc.

Having said that, you CAN play around with message_size_limit in your exim.conf file BUT keep in mind that just because your mailserver will accept larger attachements, this will do nothing to force other mailservers to accept large mail from you.
