up2date -u openssl

Hi,

We need to update our openssl and learned that we should use the command "up2date -u openssl".

We would appreciate it very much if any kind souls here could advise:
1. whether and how the command "up2date -u openssl" will affect DA
2. where and how we should type the command. A step-by-step guide would be very much appreciated.

If your running RedHat or a close variant:

The command you have or yum would probably work as well.
You will also most likely want to have customapache rebuild everything to include the new version of openssl.

We are using FreeBSD. What should we do?

I usually do it the same way it was installed originally. For example, if openssl was installed using FreeBSD package system, I would upgrade that way, ports ports, build build.

For everything else (kernel etc.) try using cvsup. There is an excellent how-to here:
