If i say Update DirectAdmin then it wont update to the last version?

Did you get a message that it was updated? If so, then you should check again after closing and re-opening all instances of your browser; it may be a problem with your browser cache.

If you didn't get a message that it was updated, what message did you get?

If you search these forums you'll find how to force an update from the command line. A command line update may give you an error message that will help diagnose the problem.

I get a Directadmin has been updated message.
It's not the browsercache, it was also with 1.29.0 > 1.29.1

IT just wont update

Try updating from the command line to see if you get an error message; you can find instructions in these forums.

Also check the directadmin log to see what it says.

srv01:/usr/local/directadmin/scripts# ./update.sh
Stopping DA-PopB4Smtp: ./update.sh: line 29: 17868 Killed /etc/init.d/da-popb4smtp restart

I'll still get the same problem:

srv01:/usr/local/directadmin/scripts# ./update.sh
Stopping DA-PopB4Smtp: ./update.sh: line 29: 6499 Killed /etc/init.d/da-popb4smtp restart
srv01:/usr/local/directadmin/scripts#

The update.sh script isn't really required to be run in order to update DA itself. The update.sh only does some minor housekeeping. THe da-popb4smtp is probably killing itself, just make sure da-popb4smtp is running, past that, don't worry about that error.

If you got the new update.tar.gz file.. extract it, run "./directadmin p", then restart DA. That's the important part of the update. Don't worry as much about the update.sh. All important housekeeping is already executed before line 29 anyway.

John, the latest DA update on two of my servers broke DA; I had to update manually.

The binary failed early on both systems, but the manual update worked.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Jeff

I saw it was updated right now! But i still don't know how... weird!

Jeff, which the OS's? if the restart doesn't happen, then sometimes will go funny, so alawys try restarting DA manually if it's not quite right.

John

CentOS 4.x. Okay next time we'll try restarting DirectAdmin before redoing the update.

But I don't think that was the problem, since the upload failed early (I'm sorry my original post wasn't more specific) and wasn't the full filesize.

Perhaps you could figure out a way to send the filesize first, and leave the old binary running if the new update file wasn't the right size.

Thanks.

Jeff
