update.XXXX files in root folder

My root folder is swamped with thousands of update.XXXX files, and every 30 minutes there is a new one coming. Files are just 8 bytes and say "Finished". Does anywhere know where these come from and how to stop them?

(And I am sure this question has been asked before, but unfortunately, "update files" is a bad search term ;)
 
It may be two options i think:

1 - Your server has been somehow hacked and is insecure
2 - A Crontab you'd set (or a system one but is quite difficult to be real) is writing those files every 30mins

Duh. Sometimes it needs someone else to speak out the obvious. I had checked the crontab before posting, but now I checked again, and there it is. Thanks. :)
 
Custom crontab. I overlooked the comma between the first two numbers and assumed it's run once a day and not twice an hour. :)
