Hi all ...
Being extremely new at all this server admin stuff i got the great job of maintaining a webserver with Directadmin installed.
Currently about 30 accounts on it, expecting to grow rapidly.

It seems that the OS is Fedora 5. Yep :(
I would like to upgrade to the latest stable release for servers (Fedora 10?).

Are there any problems to be expected?
It's a clean custombuild install (did a full custombuild update today) with CSF installed.

Keep in mind that i don't have any "YUM" experience. Just getting familiar with the "apt-get" and shell story :)

So, what is the best and safest procedure to get an "up-to-date" server running smoothly :) :) besides hiring an expert that the boss won't pay :(

thanks for any hep on this!
Have a great day!
Johan.

The best thing you can do is get another server and install CentOS and transfer the accounts.

I never recommend updating whole version numbers especially from 5 to 10. You will likely break something.
