Hi,

At this moment we have DA installed on freebsd 4.x and we want to upgrade to fedora 6.x. and we want to do this with minimal downtime for the users.

I have a second machine i can use to install fedora 6.x and DA but is it technical possible and how does it work with licence?

thanks!!

Hi,

If you want I can help you to change the OS, just contact me on MSN, ICQ or Skype.

A view days ago i registered myself at icq, but i do not see you online yet (waiting for authorization)

You can't just change between FreeBSD and Linux; you'll need to back up everything, do a bare-metal build of the new OS, and then retore.

If I were going to do it I'd use the reseller backups or the new beta admin multiple reseller backup.

ok, this is how i thought it can be done:

-Install a new server with Centos and DA.
-make on the newserver the reseller account

-backup the users from the old freebsd server, (this server is stil in use)
restore the users on the new Centos server and change dns information at the dns control panel from the ISP.

Is this right or is this not possible?
