Upgrading Apache. Customapache Vs Customerbuild

Hi Guys,

Im currently running apache 1.3.39 and would like to upgrade to the latest 2.x

Would it be best to use customapache or custombuild? What are the benefits/pitfalls of them both?

This is just my opinion, as I'm sure folks will chime in here with their prefs.

If you are up'ing to 2.0.x, use customapache.

If you are up'ing to 2.2.x, use custombuild.

I had trouble updating to 2.0.x with custombuild, whereas customapache did not.

I ended up upgrading to 2.2.x using custombuild and it worked a treat.

there was an issue with libssh2 which stopped the apache compile. Turned out i just needed an updated version of libssh2 and all was good
