Hi,
I am running DA 1.33.6, CentOS5.3, PHP 5.2.10, HTTPD 2.2.11, and MySQL 5.1.35.
I want to upgrade to MySQL 5.1.36 using custombuild, but not sure how to do so.
Do I just get the .tar.gz file and put it in the custombuild dir, then run ./build mysql, then ./build php n?
Thanks.

Code:
cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
./build update
./build mysql

When I do the selected ./build update command
It says nothing about a mysql tarball existing nore that it is downloading another one.
I can tell MySQL is installed, but it's not installed via RPM or Yum, as when I do rpm -q mysql, or rpm -q da_mysql, the system says that none of those packages are installed.
When I do yum install mysql, it wants to install 5.0.45, but apparently Yum says MySQL is already installed.
This is a fresh install of DirectAdmin on this CentOS5.3 server. So then how else can I upgrade MySQL?
Does custombuild download a tar and build MySQL from there?

You can not install MySQL, because you do not have it set in options.conf.

it says in the context of the message.
In /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild, somehow MySQL options weren't set. But then again, how is that possible when you already have MySQL installed to begin with?
It would not install unless MySQL was set to yes in options.conf.
Can you post your options.conf here or at least send it via e-mail so I can have a look at it.
And by the way, I successfully upgraded MySQL to the latest version.
I can tell you how I did it once options.conf has been looked at by meor by someone else first to make sure things are set properly.
I failed to ask: Is this a fresh install of DirectAdmin on your CentOS machine? if so, MySQL should be at 5.1 already. If not perhaps then you may have upgraded from an older DA control panel version and DA didn't bother upgrading it's software.

Dan2, I have sent you a pm so that I might try and help you with your MySQL upgrading.
If you're willing, we can discuss this further via e-mail. I've left my email address in a pm to you.

How strange? Everything looks ok in that file ... weired.
Since I sent you a pm with my e-mail address, would you mind if I logged into your box to have a look at things?
if you would be willing, I can upgrade your MySQL for you if you'd like.
Send any username/password details to me in an email, I've left my email in a pm to you, so if I can help I will try.

That's correct. It doesn't seem to work for you for some reason.
This is why I asked if I could have a look at your machine to see what I could do to possibly help you out with that.

Based upon what you've pasted, there's proof that it's not working.
When you do ./build update, it updates what's not updated to begin with which would have had to have been MySQL.
Adding MySQL to a list would not have done anything; DA knows based upon versions.txt what's not updated and what is updatable at the time you issue the build update command.
The only thing I can tell you is either I can have a look at it and see if I can attempt to help you upgrade or you contact your server provider to see if they'd upgrade MySQL for you.
I would not mind helping you upgrade MySQL as I've upgraded before.
