Hi,

I have a server powered by CentOS 5.6, DirectAdmin 1.39.3, MySQL 5.0.67 and PHP 5.2.17. I have vBulletin 4.2 running on this server.

Lately we've been having MySQL performance issues, I understand the version we're using is very old and even labeled as 'legacy'.

I would like to know if it's possible to upgrade MySQL and PHP on my server without having to reinstall vBulletin and/or re-import its database, in other words, keep the forum untouched (understanding that there are risks involved in upgrading and that we may be forced to do it).

We were advised to upgrade to PHP 5.3.17 and MySQL 5.5.28, is it possible to do this through DA? or we need to do it through SSH? or how? :)

If you could give me some instructions, that would be great.

Thanks!

Thanks for the help. :)

I installed Custombuild 2.0. What are the commands I have to enter to upgrade MySQL and PHP? Do I need to (or is it recommended) to upgrade Apache too? Will I need to re-configure my.cnf, httpd.conf, php.ini with my custom settings after upgrading?

Sorry for so many questions, thanks again. :)
