Hi,

I'm running custombuild 2.0 now.

Is it possible to upgrade my distro from currently Debian 7.7 to 7.8 without affecting or messing current configurations?

With apt-get dist-upgrade ?

Or perhaps there's another way to safely upgrade it?

Or is it not recommended to do so?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Hi smtalk,

what about the apache, mysql, php, etc builds that have been done with custombuild 2.0?

what if the distro upgrade upgrade them as well?

I need your double confirm as this is a production server.

The distort upgrade will not touch any files installed by Custombuild. If you want to upgrade them as well, use ./build update and ./build update_versions . If you want to rebuild all services, use ./build all d

I recommend you to do this upgrade at night.

If the 8 release is supported you can upgrade, once done, you need to recompile all the software installed via custombuild (with a .build all) and also change the license to match your new OS version and update the license on server side.
