We need to beable to save multiple backups in the same dir, it must be easy to stamp a date or time the backup was created within the file name?

e.g admin.root.admin.02-oct-2009.tar.gz

or make it php editable for time/date etc...?

US Format (e.g., 04-25-98): m-d-y
Expanded US Format (e.g., April 25th, 1998): F-j-Y
European Format (e.g., 25-04-98): d-m-y

etc etc

must be simple??

regards

Im sure you can can write a shell script to do it.

@charlie: but this has been discussed many times on these forums, including by John of JBMC, the publishers of DirectAdmin. So sometimes a simple answer may be best. Based on responses by John in the past I don't think DirectAdmin is going to implement it any time soon.

But that's just my opinion.

think it does need to be implanted, or i need some help to simpfly it, as i would like backups for like a month, creating 30 crons would take me a while and waste of resources/time

@Martyn,

If DirectAdmin implemented it, they'd do it one way. This way every administrator can do their own backup scenario if they don't like the rather simple way provided by DirectAdmin.

For example, we use the DirectAdmin admin backup, and we do the manipulation to save them on the backup server, as different server clients require different backup schedules.

But that's just us.

Please don't push the same agenda on multiple threads.

Thanks.

Jeff

i have onsite an offsite backups, so i would prefer to do multi back ups rather then 1 single backup at a time
