hi
i have been asking about garbige email and i got some answer, i got a message about 20 minutes ago , a spammer is telling me he is going to spam my server, in the same second i got 20 email garbige on my [email protected] email account.

i have install today the smtp limiter and i gave it 150 emails per day, i am not sure this is working against the spammer as it is showting 7 email sent and i got about 20 to my email with "subsystem error" i have found the account that this spammer got(one of them i think) and the second after i see it the public_html directory disapeer, i dowloaded all the files on that account and it is a simple script for making a mailing list, simple? i am not sure, the directory was hidden inside and their is a dirctory called
"Secure.ssl.cgi-bin" ?
is the SMTP LIMITER limites ALL the email possibilities to 150 as i set it?
what you gues suggesting me on this?

Are you asking about incoming spam or outgoing spam?

If someone is using your server for outgoing spam you need to find his account(s) and shut it/them down. I can only hope your terms of service allow that.

If someone is sending your spam to your server you can use standard spamblocking tools to block his spam.

Most spam going out through an account ippears in the the logs as coming from the username that owns the account, making it fairly easy to identify the aco****.

If someone is spamming from your server you must act quickly or you'll find yourself in blocklists, and some cost money to get out of them.
