Hi All,

I need someone to assist with an SSL certificate issue I'm having with a clients certificate.
There are 2 certificates, one for m.domain and one for www.domain

The m. domain works fine for everything and on sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html the whole SSL chain looks good.
But with www. which was installed in the same way as m. the same online checker says the chain is broken and the site is not trusted by mobile phone browsers (works fine on all desktop browsers).

I don't understand what the issue is, m. shows 4 links and finishes with a complete chain, www. has the same 4 links all ok but fails at the end!

I have got to the point where I am happy to pay someone to sort this providing that it is a reasonable cost.

Hopefully someone can help ASAP. Feel free to PM me.

first, you should provide the real domain name, is not that risky provide it ;)

if you want, feel free to PM for a quote.

Regards

Hello,

If you need our help you are highly advised to publish a domain here. If you need a private help please send a PM to those of us here who offers troubleshooting as a commerce service (I do for example).

Many thanks zEitEr,

Yes I'm aware the client's server needs much updating. They are using a very old version of OsCommerce which won't allow us to upgrade anything until that is ported to a newer version so stuck for now in that sense.

With regards to the SSL issue I was having, now sorted. I have little idea why I had so many issues, in the end it seemed to be related to a subdomain on the same IP although god knows why that should cause an issue. One of those that I'm just happy it is now working.

Thanks again for replies.

Securing of SSL stack, upgrading of apache, openssl do not effect OsCommerce. They do not care of OsCommerce version, which is limited to use a specific PHP branch only.

To solve your issue you only need to remove the last chain in the 2nd image (Pic2.jpg) you have provided.

If you are looking to buy a new SSL Certificate for multiple sub-domains security, you should go with Comodo's positive wildcard SSL Certificate.

I haven't tried checking the Certificate through any checker; I just tried visiting the sites. Here's what I found:

https://www. batterytrader.com

This works.

https://m. batterytrader.com

This does not work; it shows an error that the Certificate is for www. batterytrader.com. Yet you write that you've got two Certificates, so I'm confused.

I did check and I notice that you're using the same IP# for both m. batterytrader.com and www. batterytrader.com.

This configuration will absolutely NOT work if you've got two separate sites with two separate Certificates. Because only one site will be checked. And only one Certificate will be checked.

If you're going to use only one IP#, then you must use either a Wildcard Certificate or a Multi-Domain Certificate with two doamins covered (perhaps three, if you want https://batterytrader.com to work as well). So in that respect, user martinwilson is correct.

You can use two separate Certificates only if you use two separate IP#s and two separate sites.

If you won't be covering more than these two (or three) subdomains the best choice is the Comodo PositiveSSL multi-domain Certificate, because the price would be lowest.

NoBaloney Internet Services offers the Comodo line of Certificates at low prices, including installation. If you use our Installation services we'll make sure it works :).

If you're interested please email me (address below in my Signature Lines) and let me know what you'd like, and I can send you a quote.

Jeff
