Hi,

i want to install a centos server and set it as FTP purpose.

i check Personal license,
it is 1 account and 10 domains,

1. can i setup as many ftp accounts as i hope within the only one account ?
2. can each account view or edit other frp account's file ?

thanks

Hello.

1.) As far as I know, there are no limits to the amount of FTP accounts, unless you run into system resource limits.
2.) That depends. When using default accounts, yes they can. When you create custom FTP accounts with limits to specific directory's, they can't.

Hi,

about 2,i just wonder,
if certain ftp account be upload virus or ransomware,
will it make my entire server or other ftp accpunt get issue ?
or just the ftp account will have trouble ?

thanks

Hello.

It's in fact 1 account, being admin, with various FTP accounts. So owner of all files will still be admin even when using other ftp accounts on the admin account.
This means that if one ftp account will upload malware, the malware will be present on your admin account, so at least the public_html of your admin account will be infected, so all ftp accounts. Depending on the virus or malware used. But potentially it can reach the compleet admin account.

Depending on the kind of virus or malware, it might infect more than only webspace. Mostly malware or virusses do not infect the OS itself, but it can do things like create a botnet, hidden mailserver easily.

That's why it's always a risk to let a personal license be used as a customer account by using custom ftp accounts.
