Hello,

I cannot access mailboxes that are default for the user, like:

admin (user)
[email protected]
[email protected]

I have tried it both ways with no @ and with it too. Neither works on Thunderbird. But can login into squirrelmail.

Here's a few lines from maillog if it'll help:

Apr 14 19:35:11 domain1 imapd[18367]: imap service init from 127.0.0.1
Apr 14 19:35:11 domain1 imapd[18367]: Login user=admin host=localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]
Apr 14 19:35:11 domain1 imapd[18367]: Logout user=admin host=localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]

Any ideas?

Please do NOT obfuscate. We can't help you without real data.

That said:

If you use the same servername for Thunderbird as you do for SquirrelMail, and the same login username (with or without the domain, exactly as you do it in SquirrelMail) and password, and either port 110 if you're using POP with Thunderbird or port 143 if you're using IMAP with Thunderbird, it should work unless you've somehow firewalled off the connection.

Since Squirrelmail uses IMAP, if you're using POP with SquirrelMail and you're sure all the other settings are correct, then you should try using IMAP with Thunderbird.

Your outgoing email should be set for plaintext authentication using port 587.

If it doesn't work then you might want to see if any other mailboxes work, and test without any firewall running between you and your server.
